The Wentzville School District is offering the Chautauqua Before and After School program for families needing a caring, enriching, and well-supervised program for their children’s before and after school time.
Yes, our staff are Wentzville School District employees and follow all policies and procedures set forth by the Wentzville School District Board of Education.
No, we do not have a drop-in option. You will need to have the days you want your child to attend the program assigned in advance with the Chautauqua Office staff according to the program deadlines.
No, our policy states that is your child is enrolled in Chautauqua on a full time basis in the afternoon they do not have a bus assigned to them. This is for safety purposes. Full time is 4 or 5 days per week.
The registration fee is a one-time family fee. Once that is paid you will not have to pay that fee again.
We do not offer a drop-in program we are unable to offer drop-in or sporadic care.
Yes, a snack is provided by our Child Nutrition Office and you can see what will be offered by viewing our snack calendar that is posted monthly. Your student is welcome to bring their own snack if they choose.
If your child is scheduled to attend the program on the days the late start or early release days fall they will be able to attend the program on those days at no extra charge. We do not make schedule changes to accommodate your child for those days, they must be already enrolled to attend.
The program is not in session if school is cancelled due to inclement weather. If the school is on a delayed start due to inclement weather the program will be open at regular time for students that are regularly scheduled to attend before care on that day. See the Parent Handbook for more details.
Chautauqua is not in session on holidays, please refer to our Parent Handbook for a list of out of school days when the program is not in session.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. You may also pay by ACH (electronic checking or savings withdrawal).
Each month we follow a different theme and we do hands-on activities related to that theme. Lesson plans are posted so that parents can see what is planned each day. Students will go outside each day (weather permitting), participate in a gym activity, as well as active play with the group. Please see the Parent Handbook for more details.
We do not start registration until over the summer and we do not hold a waiting list for the up-coming school year due to staffing shortages.
The program is held in the cafeteria at each elementary school.
