FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

  • Are the staff employees of the district?

    Yes, our staff are Wentzville School District employees and follow all policies and procedures set forth by the Wentzville School District Board of Education.

  • Can my child attend on a day they are not scheduled if I call the office?

    No, we do not have a drop-in option.  You will need to have the days you want your child to attend the program assigned in advance with the Chautauqua Office staff according to the program deadlines.

  • Can my child ride the bus in the afternoon if they attend the program everyday?

    No, our policy states that is your child is enrolled in Chautauqua on a full time basis in the afternoon they do not have a bus assigned to them.  This is for safety purposes.  Full time is 4 or 5 days per week.

  • Do we re-pay the registration fee every year?

    The registration fee is a one-time family fee.  Once that is paid you will not have to pay that fee again.

  • Do you offer drop in care?

    We do not offer a drop-in program we are unable to offer drop-in or sporadic care.

  • Do you provide a snack in the afternoon?

    Yes, a snack is provided by our Child Nutrition Office and you can see what will be offered by viewing our snack calendar that is posted monthly.  Your student is welcome to bring their own snack if they choose.

  • How do I make a schedule change?

    Schedule Change Request – 2-Week Notice Required:

    1. Navigate to Chautauqua’s Eleyo site and click Sign In.

    The Sign-in page is displayed.

    1. Sign into your account.

    Your Dashboard is displayed.

    1. Under “Your Accounts” select the desired Child Care Account.

    The child care contract is displayed.

    1. Click Change Schedule.
    2. Select the beginning and ending date for the schedule change.

    If the date you need is not an option, type in the date under the New Schedule Request section.

    1. Make changes to the selected days as required.
    2. Click Submit Contract Schedule Changes.

    The child care contract screen is displayed showing the request for changes to the contract. Your request to change the childcare schedule is noted on the contract page and is pending approval from the district. Once the district has approved the change, you will receive an email confirmation and the schedule change will be reflected on the child care contract page.

  • How do I withdraw from the program?

    Cancel Child Care Withdraw Contract Request – 2-Week Notice Required:

    1. Navigate to Chautauqua’s Eleyo site and click Sign In.

    The Sign-in page is displayed.

    1. Sign into your account.

    Your Dashboard is displayed.

    1. Under “Your Accounts” select the desired Child Care Account.

    The child care account page is displayed.

    1. Under “Current and Upcoming Contracts,” select the contract you would like to withdraw from.

    The child care contract page is displayed.

    1. Under “Contract Management,” click Withdraw Contract.

    The Withdraw Contract menu is displayed.

    1. Select the last day of attendance and click Request Withdraw.

    Your request to withdraw from child care is noted on the contract page and is pending approval from the district. Once the district has approved the withdrawal, you will receive an email confirmation and the schedule change will be reflected on the child care contract page. 

  • How do late start and early release days work?

    If your child is scheduled to attend the program on the days the late start or early release days fall they will be able to attend the program on those days at no extra charge.  We do not make schedule changes to accommodate your child for those days, they must be already enrolled to attend.

  • If my child is on a waitlist, when can I expect that they will be accepted into the program?

    When a waitlist occurs, we continually work toward enrolling your child. Status of waitlists can vary from day to day and from location to location, depending on several factors. We understand this can be an inconvenience to your family and we will  notify you once your child will be enrolled.

  • If there is no school due to inclement weather is Chautauqua still in session?

    The program is not in session if school is cancelled due to inclement weather.  If the school is on a delayed start due to inclement weather the program will be open at regular time for students that are regularly scheduled to attend before care on that day.  See the Parent Handbook for more details. 

  • Is Chautauqua in session when there is no school due to a holiday break?

    Chautauqua is not in session on holidays, please refer to our Parent Handbook for a list of out of school days when the program is not in session.

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

    We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.  You may also pay by ACH (electronic checking or savings withdrawal).

  • What time can I drop off and pick up in the afternoon?

    The Before Care Program starts at 6:00 am until the start of your child's school.  The After care Program ends at 6:00 PM.

  • What type of activities will my child do in Chautauqua?

    Each month we follow a different theme and we do hands-on activities related to that theme.  Lesson plans are posted so that parents can see what is planned each day.  Students will go outside each day (weather permitting), participate in a gym activity, as well as active play with the group.  Please see the Parent Handbook for more details.

  • When does registration occur for the 2025-2026 school year?

    We do not start registration until over the summer and we do not hold a waiting list for the up-coming school year due to staffing shortages.

  • Where is the program held?

    The program is held in the cafeteria at each elementary school.
